Cessna Caravans Receive FAA Approval and STCs

North American Surveillance Systems Inc., (NASS), a global leader in surveillance system integration, has successfully completed the integration and installation of an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) package in the Cessna C-208 Caravan.

The installation and integration effort has been approved by the FAA which has issued a Supplemental Type Certificate (STCs) to the company.

Custom designed for a military client, each system includes a Wescam MX-15 EO/IR sensor, NASS side mount, moving map, DVR, microwave downlink system and NASS mission console and LCD monitors. NASS also completed an NVIS cockpit conversion.

“In addition to the using the latest surveillance technology, what makes this system unique is the rapid reconfiguration design,” said NASS President Richard McCourt. “This gives the client the ability to remove the surveillance system and convert the aircraft to passenger status within 30 minutes. Reinstallation is equally quick.”

“NASS continues to lead the way in custom designed surveillance systems,” said McCourt. “The system provides more flexibility and efficiency than alternative installation schemes and it offers our clients more mission flexibility.”

With successful project completions in 22 countries, NASS integration specialists offer service and support on-site to customers worldwide and at the NASS Deland Operations Center (NDOC) located in northern Florida, USA.
